Keep the communication flowing with your client

Respond quickly to work-related emails once you have received and read them.

At that moment you may be doing some thing but as soon as you read them if you can not make a detailed reply you can just acknowledge receipt, and the detailed answer can follow.

The above is true for new clients.

For old clients you might have already established some efficient working relationships and based on the content of message you may take some time and research to answer and then reply.

The idea is to keep the communication flowing between the client and the translator.

Free email id

Since I wrote the post about "how to identify bad payers before you accept any translation job" I received many mails. Many have thanked me, some said that it is not correct to say that a client is a bad paymaster just because he has a free mail id.
I agree, it can not be a strict criteria but it should be used in combination with other leads. When I look back and try to analyse agencies who has not paid me I find most of them has free mail id. What is you experience?
