How to do word count in powerpoint?

Click on "File", then click on "properties" click on "Statistics\ you get the word count. I use MS Office 97. It does not count embedded text boxes or tables from Word or Excel. You have to count them separate and add them to the PowerPoint words to receive the total number of words. About other versions, if any body knows please help.
